Andrew Bird revised the Kermit the Frog classic “Being Green” as part of an upcoming Muppets tribute record called The Green Album (Weezer’s also on the record so the album name is completely original). Bird’s poignant version captures the struggles of a young muppet with skin color issues and asks the philosophical question of why [...]

It’s Late at Night and I’m Youtube-ing My Youth
The turn of the millennium was a simpler time. I didn’t know that I had bad taste in music and I had the misguided impression that goatees were cool. These are the songs that blasted from my discman during those years, all found through the wonders of Youtube and late night drunkeness.

Kanye West ft. Nas + The Verve = Mash-Up
DJ White Lotus posted a mash-up of The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” and Kanye West’ “We Major.” The track, which also features Nas, actually improves on the original Verve hit. Seriously, it does. Kanye West featuring Nas – We Major (Bittersweet White Lotus Mashup) by DJ White Lotus

Black Milk and Jack White collaborate on new tracks
Jack White hooked up with rapper Black Milk for two new tracks, which comes to us courtesy of weallwantsome1. White has his grubby hands all over the release; he signed Black Milk to a record contract, he played guitars and drums and he co-produced the tracks. In other words, it’s like every other record that [...]

Seasick Steve, Jack White, John Paul Jones and Alison Mosshart at iTunes Festival
Seasick Steve, along with Jack White, John Paul Jones and Alison Mosshart, played a cover of Mississipi Fred McDowell’s “Write Me A Few Lines.” The performance came at the headline set of the second night of the iTunes Festival. It’s like a jam band dream sequence. It would only have gotten better if White and [...]

Jarvis Cocker to Wireless Festival: See You All Again… In About 15 Years”
Please be kidding. During Pulp’s set at the Wireless Festival in London’s Hyde Park on July 3, singer Jarvis Cocker told the audience, “Christmas just came early.
